The Environmental Question
Posted on: 14/04/2023
The environmental agenda is one of the most prominent subjects in society today with constant statements from the scientific community highlighting that the threat of global warming is the largest which the modern world has faced.
A green approach is being adopted by an increasing number of businesses across the country. However, there are many complex challenges to this transition.
Although much of the public push for cleaner energy solutions, it is often difficult to gain planning permissions for areas perfect for wind, solar and hydro energy production. That same public believes organisations have a social responsibility to embrace sustainable practices and reduce their impact on the environment.
While many organisations value environmental impact as a core aspect of their business, others have simply sought to market themselves as environmentally friendly without actually putting any real commitment into practice. This makes it difficult to see which companies genuinely strive for positive changes and which ones are disingenuous due to the threat of boycotts by consumers.
With the current energy crisis and renewable energy making up 25 per cent of the UK’s total energy use, it begs the question: why isn’t the government making the transition to renewables faster and more accessible to both the public and businesses alike?
These developments are the focus of Executive TV’s latest special programme, “The Environmental Question”, featuring discussion and analysis from some of the UK’S leading organisations.
Bruce Stevenson provides specialist insurance and risk management products and services to clients across the UK.
Locogen develop, construct, and operate a variety of renewable energy projects for partners and clients.
Solivus are pioneering solar energy products, enabling decarbonisation in a fast, evolving market.
Triple Point unlock investment opportunities in energy efficient projects crucial for the transition to a low carbon economy.
