Engineering A Better Economy

Executive TV are happy to announce a new program in our on-going engineering series Engineering The Economy. As the next in our series Engineering Excellence, this will be another look at the British engineering sector and discussing the challenges facing designers and manufacturers today.
British engineering faces a number of challenges today. While the industry is fairly healthy, it also faces a lack of skills and some economic uncertainty. Major projects such as Crossrail and HS2 are providing a great deal of work for some parts of the sector, while engineers working more for the private sector are facing more of a down turn. This program is focused on exploring the contribution that engineering makes to the economy and how it can help Britain to grow in the coming years.
This program brings together three major names from the British engineering sector. Gall Zeidler are specialist tunnelling engineers who have worked on infrastructure projects around the globe. Richard Allen design and manufacture pressure vessels and safety critical components for a broad customer base. Imperial Thermal are roofing engineers with a range of products they hope will revolutionise their sub-sector.
Engineering The Economy will be first broadcast on our usual channel, Propeller TV (Sky 185) on Sunday 28th of October at 10.30am, and repeated on Sunday 18th of November at 10.30am. After the initial broadcast the program will be available online at www.executivetv.org with the rest of our digital archive.
