Manufacturing the Future: ‘Manufacturing Logistics’

Posted on: 29/07/2022

British manufacturing – once a world leader – is no stranger to periods of difficulty. Recently, a range of challenges, including the Covid pandemic, Brexit and in particular a lack of skilled and trained workers, have put a strain on the industry. However, there has always been a sense of nostalgia and pride associated with British manufacturing, and many industry leaders are keen to bring it back to where it once was.

The Covid pandemic forced changes in working practices, but some manufacturers have been surprisingly resilient compared to other industries by quickly adapting to new challenges such as social distancing and infection control measures.

Manufacturing is also heavily reliant on supply chains, as without the materials needed, they simply can’t operate. This is particularly true when manufacturing medical products, as the result of delays can have serious consequences.

These issues and how the manufacturing sector is changing to cope with them are the focus of Executive TV’s latest programme, “Manufacturing Logistics” which looks into three exciting manufacturing businesses working to succeed in volatile times.

JBMPS is a family run business, committed to providing customers with the best service possible. They cover the business areas of welding and fabrication, specialist heavy plant servicing and bespoke machine builds.

KPEC Ltd is a company with a proud 30-year history. The company now has many divisions including manufacturing, repairing and supplying parts, ‘to help keep the wheels of industry turning’.

PFF Group is a leader in thedesign and manufacturing of plastic packaging for food products and medical devices
