Manufacturing Britain

Posted on: 04/11/2022

Britain has a substantial reputation in the manufacturing industry for quality and efficiency as one of the world’s pioneering countries in the sector since the start of the industrial revolution over 200 years ago. During this time the introduction of innovative technology revolutionised the industry and continues to develop at an accelerated pace with automation and robotics replacing traditional manual manufacturing processes.

Despite the incredible improvement in efficiency and design due to technological advancement, the manufacturing industry in Britain faces many stark challenges with recent external events such as Brexit and the Covid pandemic presenting unprecedented operational disruption. A significant skilled staff shortage and consistently changing sectorial trends have also added to the pressures British manufacturers already face.

These aspects and issues are the focus of Executive TV’s latest programme: “Manufacturing Britain” with expert insight from three organisations operating in the manufacturing industry that continue to thrive in this difficult economic climate.

Sunray Doors are leading manufacturers, designers and installers of steel security doors in the UK. With over 30 years of experience, Sunray has provided Britain’s commercial and industrial premises with high-specification security doors which utilise the latest security technology.

Jaytees Paints are a specialist coatings manufacturer focusing on the alloy wheel repair and remanufacturing industry. Their core product lines are water and solvent-borne basecoats, however, Jaytees also offer a range of direct adhesion to metal clear coats in gloss, satin, matt and stormy black finishes, as well as preparatory solvents.

Bona AB is a family-owned, sustainably driven company that supplies products for installing, renovating, maintaining and restoring premium floors. Bona was the first in the industry to offer a full system of waterborne hardwood floor finishing and floor care products. Today, Bona offers products for most premium floor surfaces including wood, tile, vinyl, resilient, rubber and laminate.

‘Manufacturing Britain’ will be first broadcast on our usual channel, SKY Digital 181, Sunday 6th November @10.30 am and then again on, Sunday 4th December @10.30 am.

After the initial broadcast, the programme will be available at http://www.executivetv.org/ with the rest of our digital archive.
