Sustainable Services

There can be no doubt that providing sustainable services is vital for a cleaner, greener future. Generating energy from waste instead of sending it to landfill, repurposing land so it can be used again, and providing advice and support for companies wishing to become more sustainable are now seen as vital services to working towards a more sustainable world.

One important change being made is the move to a circular economy. This involves the process of reusing, recycling, and reducing the consumption of materials. This way, products and materials are used appropriately instead of improper disposal leading to resource depletion and pollution.

This is now seen as a central pillar for companies wishing to become more sustainable – however, it also comes with new challenges, such as the rising costs of investment and technology, the need for more government support and the lack of local manufacturing.

Another important goal for the industry is the government’s target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, which many experts and business leaders see as challenging.

A further challenge to the transition to greater sustainability is the skills gap, where there is not enough new talent coming through to replace an ageing workforce.

“Sustainable Services” will be first broadcast on SKY Digital 181 on Sunday 28^th January at 10:00 AM and then again on Sunday 25^th February at 10:00 AM
